Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Varkuna FTP (the "Application") handles information when you download, access, or use the Application. The Application is developed and published by Ali Osman KAHRAMAN (the "Service Provider").
Varkuna FTP is an ad-free FTP and SFTP client for Android. It helps you save connection profiles, manage server credentials, browse remote directories, and transfer files between your device and the servers you choose.
Varkuna FTP is designed as a local-first app. The current version does not use an advertising SDK, analytics SDK, crash reporting SDK, in-app purchases, PRO features, or a Varkuna account server.

Data you provide
Saved connection profiles may include a connection name, server address or IP address, port, protocol type, username, favorite status, tags, and connection settings.
Saved credentials may include a label, username, password, SFTP private key text or selected private key file reference, and private key passphrase when you choose to save them.
App settings may include theme, language preference, file view preferences, last used directories, screen behavior, and local usage preferences.
Local storage and encryption
Connection profiles, app settings, and non-secret metadata are stored in the private app storage on your device.
Sensitive credential values such as passwords and private key passphrases are stored locally using Android Keystore backed encryption. Varkuna FTP does not upload saved passwords or private keys to a Varkuna server.
FTP, SFTP, and file transfers
When you start an FTP or SFTP session, Varkuna FTP sends the server address, port, username, authentication material, and protocol traffic required to connect to the server you choose.
Remote directory listing, file upload, file download, rename, delete, folder creation, and similar actions happen directly on the server you connect to.
Varkuna FTP does not send your file contents or file transfer history to a Varkuna backend in the current version.
Local files and Android document picker
When you use the Android document picker to upload a file, download a file, or select a private key file, the Application uses the access granted by Android for the selected file or folder.
Varkuna FTP uses file access only as needed to perform the selected transfer or authentication action.
No advertising, analytics, or purchases
The current version of Varkuna FTP does not display ads and does not use an advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or crash reporting SDK.
The current version does not include PRO features, subscriptions, in-app purchases, or Google Play Billing integration.
Third-party services
When the Application is distributed through Google Play, Google Play and the Android operating system may process certain information as part of their own security, distribution, licensing, and device management processes. These activities are governed by Google’s own privacy policies and user settings.
Retention and deletion
Connection profiles, credentials, and app settings stay on your device until you delete them in the app, clear app data, or uninstall Varkuna FTP.
Varkuna FTP does not currently operate a cloud account system, so there is no Varkuna server account to delete in the current version.
Children’s Privacy
Varkuna FTP is not directed to children. It is intended for users who manage servers or file transfer access.
The Application does not directly request personal information from children.
User rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent.
Because Varkuna FTP stores most data locally on your device, many deletion actions can be performed directly in the app or from your device settings. For privacy requests, contact android@aliosman.com.tr.
Security
Varkuna FTP uses Android private app storage and Android Keystore backed encryption for sensitive credential values stored by the app.
No method of storage or network transmission is perfect. You remain responsible for protecting your device, screen lock, server credentials, private keys, and remote systems.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the Application changes, new features are added, third-party services change, or legal requirements are updated. The updated version will be published with a new effective date.
